Kathy Meena (OCPS ESE Transition Teacher) – Kathy Meena has been a teacher of students with autism and intellectual disabilities for 13 years with Orange County Public Schools. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Florida in Education and a Master’s Degree in Exceptional Student Education/Autism Spectrum Disorders from the University of Central Florida. Kathy serves as both a mentor/demo site classroom for OCPS and UCF’s Project ASD. Kathy created the Special Hearts Farm 5 years ago and is a parent of a child with autism.
Jennifer Elliott (OCPS ESE Transition Teacher) – Jennifer Elliott has been a teacher of students with autism and intellectual disabilities for 14 years with Orange County Public Schools. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource and Community Family Development from the University of Florida, and was a Social Worker for 8 years. Jennifer assisted in creating the Special Hearts Farm 5 years ago.
Teresa Renfroe (Director/Manager Adult Day Training Program) – Teresa Renfroe has worked with students and adults with autism, intellectual disabilities and cerebral palsy for 14 years. She served as a 1:1 Severe Ed Para for OCPS for 5 years. During the summers, she worked as a camp counselor and was promoted as camp director for students with special needs. She then became a coordinator for adults with special needs at an adult day training program. She has a passion for helping others and making a difference in the lives of everyone she meets. She is eager and excited to be a Special Hearts Farm team member.
